David Tredinnick's gritty Australian accent is perfect for the narrative and the male characters. He uses softer tones for the women and subtle inflections for the Burmese transplants and natives alike. As Natalie reveals the history of the artifact and its connections to her family, she becomes fascinated with Burmese culture and the nation's political situation. Tredinnick's steady narration draws the listener into the convoluted story, set on the Gold Coast of Australia and in exotic Burma.
