This collection of short stories, twelve new and seven reprinted, run the gamut from historical fiction to fantasy. While there are three narrators credited in this audiobook, Kirby Heyborne does most of the heavy lifting, reading most of the stories in their entirety with minimal assistance from Kate Reading and Nicola Barber when a woman's perspective is presented. Heyborne demonstrates vocal agility in changing his tone and accents to fit each story. "Wilde in Omaha" allows Heyborne to channel his inner Oscar Wilde with a hint of arrogance and a slight Irish accent, while in stories like "Mechanics" he uses smaller vocal changes to convey the more mundane.
