TAKING LOTTIE HOME

This novel is about friendship: unyielding loyalty between men, supportive affection between women, and the levels of love that exist between the two. Two baseball players, released from the same team, begin a friendship that lasts for generations. Set primarily in small-town Georgia, the novel's tone is well established by reader Buck Schirner, whose deep, emotion-filled tones suit the mood. While the accents of the characters sometimes seem incongruous--perhaps exaggerated or more New England than Southern--they're still easy to understand and appreciate.
