THE WOLF'S CUB

Set in turn-of-the-century Alaska, this nature story is as much about the harsh Arctic winter and wolves as it is about Nate Blaylock, bastard son of Wyatt Earp, and his sidekick, Jim Riley. Ed Sala's reading heightens the tension and urgency of the hard-hitting action, which includes being lost in the snow, avalanches, and grizzly attacks. Reading in a steady, concise style, Sala easily changes accents, intonation, and pacing to differentiate the many male characters.
