ACORNA'S PEOPLE

Anna Fields returns with this recent addition to this fantasy/science fiction series. Acorna rediscovers her own "people" and finds that life among them is full of complication and complex emotions. Fields is comfortable with the recurring characters and brings personality to the new additions, as well. She rarely falters, and, in fact, she makes melodic the place and people names that have exotic combinations of sounds and letters. Her generally understated style brings out the story's irony and humor, and she exhibits great range in the characterization of the humans and other beings who struggle to protect their freedom and independence.
