This is the last in a trilogy that is part of a nine-book series--and will be better enjoyed by those familiar with the story's background and context. Brooks picks up the threads of the many plot lines that have developed since a band of characters set off long ago to find the elf stones and protect the Four Lands from monsters and other dark forces. Rosalyn Landor portrays the characters with familiarity and ease, particularly their dialogue. She is clearly engaged with the story from the start.
