This is a recording of one of the author’s live talks on commitment. She says you get where you need to be when you fully accept where you are, and you only move on from there when you commit to a future vision and spend every moment behaving consistently with that vision. She prays with her audience during the revival-like talk but in the process deals with some high-level paradoxes with smoothly worded clarity. In a nutshell, we get more of what we want when we give up our willfulness, reject our shallow intellectualizations, and stop chasing cheap cultural prizes.
