Jill Tanner's eloquent delivery and flawless English accent are the perfect pairing for this historical romance filled with intrigue. In the latest offering in this series, set during the Renaissance, beautiful and independent Francesca, who does not wish to marry, is sent to Terrino Boscoso, where she is one of several ladies being considered for the hand of the duke's heir, the handsome Rafaello. When she's chosen, she runs away and meets a mysterious huntsman. Is he her true love, or is he not what he seems? Using slight tonal differences, Tanner makes each character distinct and easily recognizable. The result is a well-acted glimpse into a time filled with political upheaval and women who had to be strong to carve out their places.
