LEMONADE IN WINTER

Do you hear it? “Lemon, lemon LIME, lemon LIMEADE!” Do you believe your ears? On a frigid winter day, young Pauline and brother John-John combat boredom by determinedly pursuing the building of an outdoor lemonade stand. From opening their piggy banks to purchasing supplies, discussing sales strategies, and on to debriefing, young listeners get both an engaging story and a math lesson. Narrator Rebecca Soler uses a youthful voice for this story. As the children, she hawks the lemonade with enthusiasm. Each time Pauline explains the money situation to John-John, Soler enunciates and waits for reality to set in. Portraying John-John, Soler bursts with pride as he suggests each new sales idea.
