Rushkoff's tome on the dangerous ways that technology has changed our cultural understanding of time may be quite true, but the tone of his argument, which is reflected in Kevin T. Collin's delivery, makes it challenging for listeners to appreciate. A clear condescension from both author and narrator challenges listeners' own experiences and undermines comprehension of Rushkoff's valuable points. Collins's approach is otherwise useful in guiding listeners through Rushkoff's complex arguments. Collins holds listeners' attention with a steady cadence, and often his deliberate pace teases out the complexities. Rushkoff is most insightful is when he discusses specifically how our concept of time has changed our experiences with the stock market, cataclysmic events, and politics.
