Saval explores the history of the office--all of its nuances and variations from its beginnings in the 1800s through the present. He brings into this work discussions of actual historical offices and approaches to work, such as Taylorism, as well as fictional depictions found in works such as "Bartleby, the Scrivener," OFFICE SPACE, and "Mad Men." Though Saval provides reasonably interesting prose for the subject matter, Hoye brings the book to life with his well-timed delivery.
