CARRIE'S STORY An Erotic S/M Novel

A doctoral-candidate-turned-sex slave is preparing to be sold at auction in this graphic novel featuring extensive passages of beating and humiliation. Shana Savage's low, sensuous voice is ideally suited to the dark tone of the story. While she subtly changes her inflections to suggest male and female characters, she maintains consistency in the first-person point of view. She conveys exquisite pain and pleasure by slightly changing tempo, and inserting semi-sobs and laughter when appropriate. Savage's expert portrayal of the protagonist's archrival for her master's affection is a spot-on picture of nastiness and entitlement, and her compassion for some fellow "trainees" provides emotional verity.
