BOOKENDS

This is the story of Cath, who works in advertising but longs to own a bookshop; and Josh, who is married to Lucy, a baker who is ever happy; and Si, short for Simon, who is Cath's best friend. Cath, Josh, and Si were friends in college, along with Portia, whose actions in college ended up excluding her from their circle. Cath and Lucy team up to create a cafe/bookshop called Bookends and live happily ever after. But Portia's reappearance is a catalyst for changes that affect each character in this wonderful tale of friendship and relationships. Jacqueline King creates wonderful aural personalities, energy, and accents for each character: stoic Josh, bubbly Lucy, Si the prima donna, and, Cath, the teller of this tale, content in her circle of friends.
