Carine Montbertrand narrates the character of Casey with the bold determination of a single-minded girl bent on creating a front-page story about pollution at a local paper mill. As Casey becomes cognizant of fellow reporters and their talents, Montbertrand softens the edges and slows markedly to reflect Casey's change in perspective.
