DOUBTFUL CANON

This audiobook is a story of buried treasure, a Western, and a fairy tale all in one--all delightfully narrated by George Guidall. Even with his adult voice, he convincingly captures the essence of 12-year-old Jack and his friends, Ian Spencer Henry and Jasmine. The trio meet a crazy old albino man named Whitey Grey, whom Guidall portrays superbly, spewing out thick cowboy slang. Whitey Grey convinces the children to accompany him on a quest for gold that was buried in Doubtful Canon 20 years earlier. The children end up facing some serious danger from attacking Apaches, villainous outlaws--and from Whitey Grey himself. Guidall's vivid narration brings out all the action and suspense.
