Patterson and Ellis have produced yet another compelling audio thriller—this time with a murderer so smart and sadistic that listeners will have trouble sleeping if they listen too late. January LaVoy and Kevin T. Collins provide effective voices perfectly suited to the structure of the book. LaVoy covers the voice of the brilliant, neurotic, and sometimes erratic heroine, FBI research analyst Emmy Dockery. LaVoy’s delivery of dialogue is excellent, and she keeps listeners guessing what Emmy will do next. Collins delivers the voice of the killer, always two steps ahead of the FBI and capable of the most breathtaking horror. The menace in his voice will give listeners chills.
