EQUIVOCAL DEATH

by | Read by Amy McWhirter

Mystery & Suspense • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 2000

The author, a Harvard Law School grad, practiced for four years in New York before deciding to write full time. Her first novel focuses on a young, female New York lawyer who becomes embroiled in a series of killings and must sort out the tangle of suspects, not just to solve the case, but to save herself. Reader Amy McWhirter is solid and believable as the main character. She is a bit weak on male characters, though, especially in expressing strong emotions. The story is fast paced, but the author introduces a few too many red herrings. The abridged version keeps the entire primary plot and all of the main characters. Mystery fans may opt for the unabridged version which presents characters' back stories. John Grisham fans should opt for the latter. R.C.G. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 02]
