Dr. Wesselman is an anthropologist who thinks of himself as a modern-day shaman, one who specializes in the study of the spiritual ancestry other cultures--à la Carlos Casteneda. VISIONSEEKER, his third book, details his many encounters with spirits who lived at other times. Although spiced with musical bridges at the beginning and end of each side, the book overall is a disappointment. Wesselman speaks in a monotonous drone, sounding as if he is giving a six-hour lecture. His voice is a flat monotone, even during intense or emotional passages. Like his students, audio listeners may have difficulty staying awake. A.G.H. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 02]
