Christopher Kay gives a sensitive narration of this mystery, which explores fundamental questions of personal responsibility, rights of the terminally ill, assisted suicide, and complexities of human relationships. Tone, cadence, and accents are tools Kay uses well to create a small but diverse collection of characters. His choices enhance the observations of class, privilege, and status that subtly flow through the assumptions and decisions that affect the investigation.
