Lieberman exposes the tangled and complicated history of psychiatry from its problematic origins and questionable practices to the scientifically sound field that has now emerged. At times, Graham Corrigan can sound a bit flat as narrator. When quoting people or expressing emotion, his tone lacks depth. This may be because some of the quotes lack clear context. In contrast, when narrating passages of information or even Lieberman's overarching concern about the public image of psychiatry, Corrigan provides strong emphasis and timing and as well as a nuanced navigation of complex passages.
