THE BEAM: SEASON 1

The world of 2097 is brought to listeners by 12 experienced narrators. Performing swiftly and smoothly, they describe a future in which the Enterprise and the Directorate, the only political parties in the North American Union, control the lives of its citizens. Life in the NAU takes place with the help of the Beam, a futuristic form of the Internet, which has invaded everyone’s life. But revolution is about to overthrow the NAU. Crude language is interspersed within dialogue that seems unnecessary to the plot. The story is delivered flawlessly, yet one is disappointed that the narrators never interact with one another throughout this complex story, which is broken into six episodes.
