Historian Tevi Troy offers listeners an engaging treatise on executive power, in particular, highlighting the use of that power with corporate chief executives over the course of American history. Narrator Timothy Andres Pabon does an outstanding job with a measured yet incisive performance. At times, there were epic historic clashes; at other times, smooth sailing. The CEOs whose styles and interactions are discussed include John D. Rockefeller, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk. Of particular interest are interactions with the only woman CEO mentioned, Kathryn Graham of the WASHINGTON POST. The "CEO Joke File" alone, while corny, is worth the listening experience, and you can sense an arched eyebrow on Pabon's part in the many wry anecdotes. If you wish to have some fun on a serious subject, consider this audiobook. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2024]
