Cotton’s narration of his book should be a reminder to publishers that authors sometimes don’t make good narrators. Cotton recounts his own and his friends’ rise to fame as Dude Perfect, a group that became celebrities as a result of their outrageous basketball shots posted on YouTube. As a young entrepreneur, Cotton attempts to bestow the wisdom he’s accumulated through his quick rise to popularity. Meant to be inspirational, the audiobook falls flat, in part, because of Cotton’s over-the-top narration. He delivers every sentence as if it should end with an exclamation point!
