Narrator Aimee Lilly portrays endearing, friendly Whitney Richards, who has it all. The A-student is a cheerleader, her boyfriend is the football captain, and she drives a really cool Jeep. Things change, though, when she gets a "D" on a calculus test and Brent breaks up with her on Valentine's Day. Lilly captures Whitney's conflicting emotions and presents splendid verbal sound effects such as eating popcorn and yawning. When Whitney falls for her math tutor, unpretentious Taylor Martinez, she realizes how shallow her life has been. Listeners will hear Whitney's growth as she becomes more confident in her decisions.
